Tony & Sol, 30th Pearl Wedding Anniversary, Thanksgiving Celebration, The Renewal of Vows!

Our Pearl Wedding Thanksgiving Day!
December 18, 2021

Our 30th Pearl Wedding Anniversary, Thanksgiving Day!

30 years multiplied by 365 equals the number of days we've been married,
that's 10,950 days.

Our sincerest appreciation to
Rev. Fr. Reginald Rivera Malicdem
(Rector of Manila Cathedral)

This milestone anniversary is a perfect opportunity for us to vow renewals as we both recommit to a life together.

Renewing our vows can be a powerful way to reinforce to each other and our family how despite everything, we still want to stand side by side and celebrate our love surviving. Our vow renewals can symbolize a clean slate to start again and how we choose to shape our future together against all odds.

After 30 years of marriage and the ups and downs we’ve both gone through, our relationship has taken multiple different paths, and I feel the need to declare a different set of commitments to each other. Certain vows we made the first time around might not be so relevant to both of us now. That could be because we have different priorities in life now and as we’ve both grown together as a couple, we both deem new aspects of our love and commitment more important. Creating a new set of vows for different stages of our lives and our relationship can be a wonderful way to embrace the changes we’ve gone through but reinforces that no matter what our love has remained strong.

What more can I think of about romantic gestures, since it's Pandemic time. Our love for each other runs so deep that I wish to shout it to the world and celebrate the fact that we would make that commitment repeatedly in a heartbeat.

The 30th Anniversary is known as the Pearl Anniversary because, historically, wives celebrating their 30th Anniversary were presented with pearls. Natural pearls are beautiful but scarcely found jewels, which is precisely why they were first associated with the 30th Anniversary. Like pearls, couples who reach 30 years of marriage are relatively rare, and the giving of the pearl symbolizes the beauty and scarcity of such a wonderful union.

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary!
December 18, 2016

An anniversary is a time to celebrate today’s moments of joy, and yesterday’s great memories, and share hopes for tomorrow. These have been the best years of our lives. I am so glad that we decided to tie the knot 30 years ago. You are my one and only husband, best friend, and the love of my life. I wouldn’t trade our marriage for anything in the world!

Tony and Sol
When you first joined hands and hearts in marriage 30 years ago, you did not know where life would take you.

You promised to love, honor and cherish one another through all things. Life has brought you wonderful blessings and difficult challenges over the years. But here you are today, having fulfilled the vows to love, honor, and cherish you each made on your wedding day. And with that God is smiling.

(Join your right hands)
As we celebrate here today, and as you reflect over all the years as husband and wife, do you now wish to reaffirm the vows you took 30 years ago?
(Tony & Sol - Yes, I Do)

Renewal of Vows
Tony, will you continue to have Sol as your wife
and continue to live in this happy and loving marriage?
Tony: Yes, I Do.

Tony, Do you reaffirm your love for Sol, and will you love,
honor and cherish her in sickness and in health,
for richer or poorer, for better or worse, and forsaking all others,
be faithful to her for as long as you both shall live?
Tony: Yes, I Do.

Sol, will you continue to have Tony as your husband and
continue to live in this happy and loving marriage?
Sol: Yes, I Do.

Do you reaffirm your love for Tony, and will you love,
honor and cherish him in sickness and in health,
for richer or poorer, for better or worse, and forsaking all others,
be faithful to him for as long as you both shall live?
Sol: Yes, I Do.

Since you intend to renew your vows in the covenant of Holy Matrimony,
join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church.

May the Lord in His goodness strengthen your consent and fill you both with His blessings.

"What God has joined together, let no man put asunder."

Rev. Fr. Reginald Malicdem blesses the wedding rings as symbols of deep faith and peace.

Tony and Sol exchange them with a promise of unconditional love and fidelity.

Tony and Sol,
On your wedding day, you exchanged rings as a symbol of the never-ending circle
that symbolizes the eternal quality of God, unending strength, and unending love.

May you always wear your rings as a reminder of your wedding vows to each other, and your commitment to continuing to live in unity, love, and happiness.

Sol, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, love, loyalty, faithfulness, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Tony, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, love, loyalty, faithfulness, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Father Reggie: May Tony and Sol, be blessed with the guidance, strength, and direction to make their relationship grow and blossom in the years ahead.

Father Reggie gave me a priestly blessing and prayer for the sick.

PRONOUNCEMENT

Tony and Sol, today you have renewed the promises and vows
you made to each other on your wedding day.

You have symbolized the renewal of the marriage union by the joining of hands,
the taking of vows, and by exchanging of rings.

Rev. Fr. Reginald Malicdem's Blessings

It is with pleasure that I conclude the ceremony of renewing the vows of marriage that joined you and forever binds you as husband and wife.

Please celebrate this renewal of vows with a sign of affection.

Tony and Sol after 30 years

We have shared the joys, blessings, and challenges, of married life for 30 years.
And, today we reconfirm our commitment to working together to make our marriage grow and blossom in the years to come.

May this ceremony, renewing the vows we took to become husband and wife on our wedding day, remind us that despite the stresses inevitable in every life, our love, respect, trust, and understanding of each other will continue to increase our contentment and heighten our joy in living. Amen.

After we kissed, Father Reggie give us a big round of applause.

After we renewed vows father Regie gave me the story of Saint Rita of Avila. It was an inspiring moment for me to hear such a kind story yet not easy to think about. Thank you so much, for the priestly blessing and prayer for my health. One precious moment turns out to be a miracle of faith.

Tony Albar The Awesome Dad

What in the world could I change about a man that loves his family, works hard, and treats his wife with love and respect?

You are so full of compassion, love, and strength. When we need a strong hand of support in our family, you are always there. I love you for being who you are and for all that you do.

When I look at you being a Dad, my heart swells with gratitude and pride. I find myself sitting in a corner, admiring you being your natural self, being in your comfort zone of daddy hood. I feel so blessed to have a husband like you.

I am so thankful that our family was blessed with a father as caring, thoughtful, and supportive as you. It must be Heavenly Father looking out for me. He knew we would compliment each other so he blessed us with each other.

Thank you for always putting our family's interest first. Thank you making me laugh even when I was sad. Thank you for being that shining light in my darkest night. Thank you for encouraging me to waive a new dream each morning. Thank you for always being there for me in my sad days and also the happy once.

Everyday, I wish you continuous blessings from above, for God's guidance, protection, strength for health, long life and prosperity.

We love you from the bottom of our hearts. Wink!

2013 Tony Birthday Celebration

Happy 54th Birthday Tony!

God gave a gift to the world when you were born, a person who loves and cares,
who sees a person's need and fills it, who encourages and lifts people up,
who spends energy on others rather than himself,
who touches each life he enters & makes a difference in the world.
May the love you have shown to others return to you multiplied.

Simple moments are made of this.

2008 Villa Escudero

February 24, 2008, day visit at Villa Escudero with my family.

About Villa Escudero

Experience the allure of Philippine country life at Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort.

A self-contained working coconut plantation, It was founded in the 1880s by Don Placido Escudero and his wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Originally planted to sugarcane, the crop was converted to coconut by their son Don Arsenio Escudero in the early 1900s. A pioneering agro-industrialist, he built the country’s first working hydroelectric plant to supply his dessicated coconut factory and Villa Escudero, where he and his wife Dona Rosario Adap built in 1929.

Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981. From its humble beginnings, the resort has become a prime tourist destination for locals, overseas Filipinos and a wide array of foreign visitors to the country. It has a worldwide reputation as a showcase for the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage, offering a beguiling glimpse of its history, cuisine, dress, customs and natural beauty a mere two hours away from Manila.
