20th Wedding Anniversary (Ngong Ping 360)

Some of our best memories are not just the magic of our first few kisses but the magic we create every time we kiss for the rest of our lives.

Our 20th year Marriage Anniversary is a big milestone, two whole decades together. We had one child, son who is now 13 years old. In all likelihood, the next 10 years will bring some additional alone time together. Our 20th anniversary is a year for looking back and looking forward. Reflect on the commitment to a lifetime marriage that the two of us have made as we celebrate this special time.

Hong Kong Disneyland

I love creating happy memories with my family. Our 1st vacation abroad was in Hong Kong and we explore Disneyland before my son outgrows them.

We started travelling as a family when my son turns 2 years old. We started with local destinations in order for us to gain ideas, chose the right activities for us to enjoy and how to make our travel stress free.

Our first international family trip was one of the best memories we had. We remember it, talk about and even share a good laugh with people. As time goes by, I am sure we made it right, spending time with my boys creating these memories helps us to strengthen our relationship as a family. We find best of friends in each other.

Once in a while in our daily life, It reconnects us back to the memories of joy and love.

Happy family with Pluto and Goofy.

2008 Villa Escudero

February 24, 2008, day visit at Villa Escudero with my family.

About Villa Escudero

Experience the allure of Philippine country life at Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort.

A self-contained working coconut plantation, It was founded in the 1880s by Don Placido Escudero and his wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Originally planted to sugarcane, the crop was converted to coconut by their son Don Arsenio Escudero in the early 1900s. A pioneering agro-industrialist, he built the country’s first working hydroelectric plant to supply his dessicated coconut factory and Villa Escudero, where he and his wife Dona Rosario Adap built in 1929.

Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981. From its humble beginnings, the resort has become a prime tourist destination for locals, overseas Filipinos and a wide array of foreign visitors to the country. It has a worldwide reputation as a showcase for the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage, offering a beguiling glimpse of its history, cuisine, dress, customs and natural beauty a mere two hours away from Manila.

Andreij's 1st Holy Communion

First Communion or First Holy Communion is the occasion when children receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time, which is also translated as receiving the body and blood of Jesus Christ. At an early age of either eight or nine, children are taught prayers that need to be memorized before they receive Communion. These prayers are about a paragraph in length and have very specific meanings attached to them. In the lifetime of a Roman Catholic, receiving Communion is one of the most prominent milestones to cross. Not only children but also adults can receive Communion when they have met the requirements of the church. By continuing to receive Communion for the rest of their lives, Catholics believe that they can become one with Christ and share in His eternal life. The other prayers for this occasion include the Prayer Before Holy Communion and the Prayer After Holy Communion.

Prayers to be memorized before receiving First Communion are the Sign of the Cross, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, the Glory Be and the Act of Faith. Also important are the Acts of Hope and Charity, the Act of Contrition, Grace Before Meals and The Guardian Angel Prayer.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom comes, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Hail Mary
full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary
Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father
and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was, in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because you revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.

Pope's Message to First Communion Children and their Parents:

Dear parents!
I ask you to help your children to grow in faith, I ask you to accompany them on their journey towards First Communion, a journey which continues beyond that day, and to keep accompanying them as they make their way to Jesus and with Jesus. Please, go with your children to Church and take part in the Sunday Eucharistic celebration! You will see that this is not time lost; rather, it is the very thing that can keep your family truly united and centered. Sunday becomes more beautiful, the whole week becomes more beautiful, when you go to Sunday Mass together. And please, pray together at home too: at meals and before going to bed. Prayer does not only bring us nearer to God but also nearer to one another. It is a powerful source of peace and joy. Family life becomes more joyful and expansive whenever God is there and his closeness is experienced in prayer. Pope John Paul 11

Pope John Paul II wrote a letter to children about First Holy Communion, and here is a part of that letter:

"Dear friends, there is no doubt that an unforgettable meeting with Jesus is First Holy Communion, a day to be remembered as one of life's most beautiful.

The Eucharist, instituted by Christ at the Last Supper on the night before His passion, is a sacrament of the New Covenant — the greatest of the sacraments. In this sacrament, the Lord becomes food for the soul under the appearances of bread and wine.
Children receive this sacrament solemnly a first time — in First Holy Communion — and are encouraged to receive it afterward as often as possible in order to remain in close friendship with Jesus.

First Holy Communion is a great family celebration...and also a great day of celebration in the parish. I remember as though it were yesterday when, together with the other boys and girls of my own age, I received the Eucharist for the first time in the parish church of my town. This event is usually commemorated in a family photo so that it will not be forgotten. As time goes by, people take out these pictures and experience once more the emotions of those moments; they return to the purity and joy experienced in that meeting with Jesus, the one who out of love became the Redeemer of Man."

Pope John Paul II
